I was picking a couple things up at Walmart and as I came up I saw this:
Actually, that's not entirely true. They had a Storm trooper with them before. And do I have my camera with me at fantastically awesome times like this? No. Of course not. So as I came out, I asked if they were going to be there any time next week. Darth (we're on a first name basis) told me that they had obligations "elsewhere in the galaxy" but would be there until 7. The time: 6:25. Distance from Walmart: 20 minutes.
I made it home in 10. Two roommates were home. I told them to hurry if they wanted to see the most awesome thing ever. They put on their shoes and came with me, holding on for their lives as I weaved in and out of cars on the freeway. The way back took me 9 minutes.
Well worth the pictures. Don't you think?
Everyone stopped to put change in. How could you not? After all, Vader has some training in the Jedi ways and knows the mind tricks. :) Really, bravo to these awesome guys who totally made my day and found a good way to raise money for the Salvation Army!
I can't even begin to describe the awesomeness of this!
ReplyDeleteYou can be sure I'd dump every loose coin in my purse into that bucket only cuz Darth Vader was there to ring the bell.
My nephew would have peed his pants. The kid prays to Darth Vader (this was a one-time occurrence, lovingly corrected by his parents of course.)
I hate my life. I've only lived in Orem for 11 years and not once have I EVER seen Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper collecting money for Christmas. I would've emptied out my wallet for them. I really would have.
